Coarser Natural Grain
Across cracked clay and sleeping stones,
the Lucanian farmer walks alone,
with hands as rough as ancient dreams,
and eyes that speak to skies unseen.
He lives for soil both harsh and bare,
that sometimes yields, yet more often spares,
still — a stubborn seed — he stays,
renewing love with each new day.
In silence tasting of distant skies,
he tends his roots, his hopes, his cries,
and in each furrow deep and wide,
he plants a piece of ancient pride.
The pictures, captured with a Pentax K1000 and Ilford Delta 3200 film, which was "pulled" to achieve a coarser grain, were printed on Multigrade FB Classic matte paper.
